Project Overview:
Collaborating closely with the CEO of Wrenew, we embarked on a transformative journey to redesign the Wrenew iOS app, focusing on enhancing user experience and creating a visually appealing interface.
Understanding User Flow:
Commencing with information architecture, we meticulously mapped out the placement of elements on each screen, ensuring a logical flow that aligns with user needs and expectations.
The information architecture phase was crucial in identifying the optimal placement of features within the app, facilitating a seamless user experience.
Lo-fi Wireframes in Figma:
Utilising Figma, I crafted several options for the home screen in low-fidelity wireframes. These were presented to the team, encouraging collaboration and garnering insights. Subsequently, we conducted user testing using Maze to validate our design choices.
The collaborative design process, involving the team and real user testing, allowed us to refine the home screen layout iteratively, ensuring it met both aesthetic and functional criteria.
Creating a Safe and Functional Space:
The home screen was envisioned as a safe reference point, easily accessible from anywhere within the app. Key elements included a streamlined navigation system and a prominent display of upcoming bookings. Additionally, users could effortlessly explore other beauty salons, fostering a comprehensive and user-friendly experience.
Prioritising ease of use, the redesigned home screen provided users with a centralised hub, enhancing accessibility to essential features and information.
Simplified and Familiar Navigation:
In the development and testing phase, we focused on simplifying Wrenew's navigation using universally recognized icons. A straightforward navigation system contributes significantly to user engagement and concentration.
The navigation design prioritised simplicity, employing universally familiar icons to ensure users could effortlessly navigate through the app, promoting a positive user experience.
Project Management Milestones:
This project presented a significant opportunity for personal and professional growth. Serving as both a designer and project manager, I navigated through various facets of the business. The trust placed in me by the Wrenew team was invaluable, and I am grateful for the experience.
