Fanfinity

A fan app for football clubs, taken from first concept through mid-fi and hi-fi to developer handoff: match feed, player profiles, bookable experiences and a three-player fantasy game.

The situation

Fanfinity is a fan engagement product for football clubs, on web and mobile. It gives a club one app for its supporters: the next match, the squad, tickets, the store, bookable club experiences and a fantasy game. Fans earn points in the app and can spend them on things like experiences.

While I was designing it, the product was being pitched to clubs in the Saudi Pro League, so the screens on this page use Al Hilal as the example club. This page covers four areas of the app: the home feed, the player profile, experiences and fantasy.

My part

I was Fanfinity’s UI/UX designer on contract from 2025 to 2026, working remotely with teams across four time zones, including the UK, Saudi Arabia and Spain. I took each area from concept to mid-fidelity screens to high-fidelity designs in Figma, then handed the designs to the developers.

Outside the app, I built ten investor and partner pitch decks with the Head of Strategy and helped hire as the product team grew from two people to six. I also modelled and rendered club merchandise in Blender. Those renders are at the end of this page.

Key decisions

  1. 01

Lead the feed with the next match

The mid-fi home screen opened with a score bar, filter chips and a fixture card. In hi-fi the next fixture fills the first screen, with Buy tickets and Set reminder on it. Experiences, lineups, the last five games, a prediction poll and previous meetings follow underneath, so everything about one match is in one scroll.

  2. 02

    Three picks for fantasy

The fantasy game asks for three players for one match, chosen from the cards a fan already holds, and has one button to enter the team. The hi-fi screen puts the leaderboard and the missions under the pitch, so a fan sees their rank and the next way to earn points on the same screen.

  3. 03

Sell from the page the fan is already on

The player profile has a Buy kit button on the player’s photo, with the shirt’s product details further down the same page. The experience page ends on the price and Add to cart, with the fan’s points shown as a discount against the full price. Fans can buy from either page without opening the store tab.

Home feed · Mid-fi to hi-fi

The next match leads

The mid-fi feed beside the hi-fi one. The fixture fills the first screen with tickets and a reminder, then experiences, lineups, the last five games, a prediction poll and previous meetings.

Player profile · Mid-fi to hi-fi

A page for every player

Mid-fi listed every statistic in tables and accordions. Hi-fi keeps three headline numbers, adds the player’s story and sells their shirt from the same page.

Experiences · Mid-fi to hi-fi

Closer to the club

A training session and meet and greet. The hi-fi page shows who can book, when it is, what is included and where, and ends on the price with the fan’s points taken off.

Fantasy · Mid-fi to hi-fi

Pick three

Three player slots on a pitch, filled from the cards a fan holds. Hi-fi adds the match leaderboard and missions that pay out points.

Working with the team

The team was spread across four time zones, including the UK, Saudi Arabia and Spain. I presented design concepts to more than 30 stakeholders, including the C-suite, and two proposals were signed off the first time they were presented.

I worked with the Head of Strategy on the pitch decks that took the product to Saudi Pro League clubs, and interviewed twelve candidates as we hired engineers and marketers. The developers received the finished designs in Figma, and the three projects I worked on were delivered on schedule.

What I’d do next

  1. Put the fantasy game in front of fans

Three picks is a much shorter game than most fantasy football. I would run usability sessions with supporters of one club to see whether it holds their interest across a season, and adjust the missions from what they say.

  2. Design the Arabic version alongside the English

The screens on this page are in English. For Saudi clubs the same components need an Arabic, right-to-left version, and I would design the two together from the first mid-fi screen.

Results

The home feed, player profile, experiences and fantasy designs were taken from concept to high fidelity and handed off to the developers. I don’t have usage figures to share for the app, so the numbers below describe the work itself.

Club merchandise, rendered in 3D

Alongside the product design I model and render in Blender, and design team kits and graphics in Photoshop. These are kit and merchandise renders made for Fanfinity and its club partners.
